Knots of Love

This knit & crochet group meets on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month at Mountain View United Methodist Church, 3200 Maryville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920 from 6:30 to 8:30pm. The class/group is free but you will need to supply your own crochet hooks & knitting needles. Yarn for prayer shawls will be provided if you would like to help with those. Please bring whatever you are currently working on. We all like to share ideas!

Health Rhythms

HealthRHYTHMS is an uplifting and life-affirming interactive rhythmic experience, based on a proven protocol that enhances well-being for personal growth in an innovative way.  It relieves stress, boosts your immune system and provides a means of connecting with each other in a playful and inspiring way. Instruments are furnished and no experience is necessary.  join us in the Family Life Center on the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. for a fun way to interact with others and grow closer to God!

Laundry Ministry

The laundry ministry is carried out by our children’s Sunday school class, who collect quarters every Fifth Sunday.  The quarters are then used to pre-pay for laundry loads at for patrons at coin laundries in our community.  For more information, contact Michelle Ruckart.

Mt. Olive Elementary School

Mt. Olive Elementary School is one of two beneficiaries of our annual Back to School Bash, through which we collect supplies and materials requested by the teachers.  Mountain View assists with other collections to benefit the school throughout the year, and provides tasty treats for the teachers and administrators during National Teacher Appreciation Week.

Rockford Elementary School

Rockford Elementary is one of two beneficiaries of our annual Back to School Bash, through which we collect supplies and materials requested by the teachers.  Mountain View also provides tasty treats for the teachers and administrators during National Teacher Appreciation Week.

South-Doyle Highschool

South-Doyle High school is the most recent addition to schools we support through outreach. Currently we hand out bottled ice water to spectators at one or more football games each year, host and collect a love offering for the South-Doyle Singers, provide travel treats for the Singers when they tour, and provide at least one meal for the members of the marching band.

Beacon of Hope

Beacon of Hope is a partnership between several area churches, including Vestal, Church Street United Methodist Church, and Mountain View United Methodist Church. The ministry is based at Vestal UMC and is serving the spiritual and physical needs of the people of South Knoxville by offering outreach ministries to help those struggling with issues of poverty.

Second Harvest

Second Harvest Food Bank is the East Tennessee region’s largest hunger-relief charity; operating programs in 18 counties. The food bank secures and distributes over 18 million pounds of food and grocery products annually through a network of over 500 partnering non-profit organizations such as food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters and schools.

Compassion Coalition

Compassion Coalition is a faith-based nonprofit in Knoxville, Tennessee. The Coalition currently consists of 231 churches in Knox County Tennessee that are committed to moving beyond the walls of our church buildings to be the compassionate presence of Christ in the midst of the poverty, pain, and brokenness of our community. This ministry is not aligned with any specific church or denomination, but has a distinct Kingdom focus.

The mission statement of Compassion Coalition is to inform, equip, and connect churches to transform lives and communities through the love of Christ.
